Not to be confused with Chalk Hill Winery in California, Wits End is made by Chalk Hill Wines of McLaren Vale, Australia. It's a sixth-generation property with vines planted in 1897, and the Harvey family is still going strong today with a diverse line of Italian and French varietals. Since 2014, the wines have been made by Renae Hirsch, whose light touch "showcases varietal, regional and vineyard characteristics." Her 2018 Wits End Luna is an elegant Shiraz (3% Barbera added) that's fermented in barrel and aged for 14 months in oak. No fining, filtration, or acidification
