INSTALLATION

Straightforward DIY swap, but installation technique matters more than usual with this screen, it's a five-minute job that's easy to get slightly wrong.

PRO TIPS

• Snug the retaining screw down just until the screen stops moving, do not crank it. Over-tightening warps the screen, and a warped screen won't seat flush against the group gasket, which shows up months later as channeling that seems to come out of nowhere.
• After installing, run water through the group with the screen in place and watch the flow pattern; it should come through evenly across the whole face, not concentrated toward one edge.
